THANK YOU!!
There are no words to truly express how much all of us at Fighting Blindness Canada (FBC) appreciate the incredible support of our Ride for Sight Central Ontario Riders.

It has been a very strange and challenging year, but our Ride for Sight community really stepped up in such a huge way in the fight against blindness.

Together, you raised over $45,000 and added $7,000 to that in matching donations for all funds collected ONLINE in the month of August. This will make a big difference in moving vision research forward - especially this year.

Our Riders have been with us for 42 years - always showing up, raising money, and supporting our community. And now, it is all happening ... in October, the first-ever sight-restoring treatment for an inherited retinal disease was approved by Health Canada! Early research for this treatment was funded by FBC. We simply could not have gotten here without you!

Give yourself a big pat on the back, walk with pride and know that it is because of Riders like you, that this was made possible!

THANK YOU!

Earlier diagnosis of eye diseases

Close up of infants faceRight now, it is hard to diagnose young children with an eye disease.

Infants and toddlers can't read the letters or match the shapes that current tests rely on.

Money raised from Ride for Sight helps to fund Dr. Susan Leat’s research team, who are developing a new vision test for young children.

Earlier detection of vision loss in young children means that they can access new treatments - that are on their way - before damage is done.

Supporting our community during the pandemic

Online resourcesFBC understands the challenges that our vision loss community has been facing during COVID-19.

Since March, people living with vision loss have been calling our Health Information Line (1.888.626.2995) to have their questions answered about COVID and their eye health.

Thanks to your support, we have developed a variety of COVID and your eye health resources for people living with vision loss.
