Letter from the Headteacher

By Mrs Cunningham on Oct 23, 2020 12:30 pm

Dear Parents/Carers,

We have reached the half term break and everyone – children and staff alike – have now settled well into the new school routines. The children have been incredibly resilient during this period and classrooms are buzzing with work and excitement.

Although we have been severely limited in our wider school activities, we have been able to run Bikeability, STAR and have started to attend some football fixtures around the borough. The Friends of Crudgington have been brilliant in providing competitions and arranging and advertising the whole school Halloween themed mufti day.

I would like to thank all parents and carers for supporting the school with our staggered starts/ends and face mask requirements. This really does go a long way in ensuring that our site does not get overly busy and that everyone remains as safe as possible.

Mrs Bennett has now been appointed to the role of Office Assistant and Breakfast Club Manager. She will now oversee after-school club, breakfast club and will be working in the office alongside Mrs Cunningham.

We have said a fond farewell to our sports coach, Harry who has now moved to Manchester.

Marie from ActivSports will be in school with us after the half-term and has already met the children.

On behalf of everyone in school I would like to wish you a restful half term and we are looking forward to welcoming you back on Monday 2nd November.

A.S. Ames

By Mrs Cunningham on Oct 23, 2020 10:59 am

The new committee of The Friends of Crudgington School have been very busy in the last few week arranging the Guess the weight of the pumpkins in KS1 and KS2 playgrounds.

The winners of both will be notified today via the Friends Facebook page.

They have also successfully organised the Halloween mufti day today which the children are all enjoying.

The design your own Christmas card has also been very popular and all of these have now been collected in and will be sent off for printing this week.

Thank you to Mrs Tomlin from the outgoing committee for organising the Bags to School collection again this year which has raised £123.00 for the school.

Year 6 Bikeability

By Mrs Cunningham on Oct 23, 2020 10:27 am

This week the Bikeability team from Telford and Wrekin Council have once again run the Bikeability Courses for our Year 6 children.

The children that have taken part in this one day course have thoroughly enjoyed themselves and have all successfully completed their course.

This course is always popular with the children in Year 6 and we are grateful to the course providers for their provision of such a great day for the children and ensuring that they are given the skills and advice to become safe, confident bike riders.
