Time to get creative! This weekend is the perfect time to take a few minutes and submit your art projects with your kids. Use the instructions below. What a great way to have some holiday gifts ready for the extended family!
ART FUNDRAISER - DEADLINE 10/30
The Freedom Hill PTA is excited to partner with Square 1 Art to celebrate creativity and raise funds for the school! The Square 1 Art art project provides you the opportunity to purchase keepsakes and gifts featuring your child's art! Purchase gifts for everyone on your holiday shopping list! The Art Fundraiser is 3 easy steps:
  1. Create Art
  2. Photograph & Upload your art to Square 1 Art
  3. Shop for keepsakes!

Art upload deadline is 10/30, parent order deadline is 11/18, and deliveries should be received the week of 12/7.

More information, including directions and project lesson plans are located on the Art Fundraiser page of the PTA website including the template art paper and do's and don'ts. Questions? Need a template or supplies? Reach out to Art Fundraiser coordinators Amber Halaka and Jennifer Liu.  Please note: This is voluntary and does not take the place of anything Mr. A is teaching and assigning in class.

WHEN CREATING YOUR ARTWORK
Some things to note:
1. Create colorful artwork.
2. Fill the entire 8.5 inch art square space (you can do this with normal paper or with the template).
3. Important details should be at least 1 inch from edge of drawing space.
4. Don’t draw guidelines on the paper.
5. Kids sign and date it to help mark the keepsake.
Use Signature Template.
PHOTO TIPS FOR YOU
Some things to note:
• Go Outside Natural light is best and avoid shadows.
• Be Directly Overhead Get the best photo possible.
• Edit & Crop Make your art perfect.
Check out the video on how to take the photo.
Then...Upload it here.
WHAT'S NEXT & Q'S ANSWERED
Next you can shop for keepsakes - aprons, potholders, mugs, journals, masks, pillow cases, keychains, canvas prints, etc. Orders are due by 11/18. Now for your questions:
Q: How quickly will the artwork be ready for purchase?
A: You can view the products with your artwork and purchase immediately. Artwork will be delivered the week of 12/7.
Q: My kid drew on a whiteboard? Is that ok?
A: As long as it fits the space of an 8.5 inch square, you should be good to go.
Q: Can I upload multiple pieces of art from one kid?
A: Absolutely. There will be more options for you to purchase.
Q: What art medium can my child use?
A: Really anything that fits into that 8.5 inch square space that can be photographed well. So paint, crayons, pencils, charcoal, white board art, etc.
Q: My kid has NO clue what to draw. Are there templates?
A: Yes, there are optional templates (coloring book pages) and lesson plans by grade they can follow here.
Q: My kid LOVES this one piece of art, but it's not in the 'template'. What do I do?
A: As long as it fits into the 8.5 inch by 8.5 inch square, it should be fine. If it is larger, or not square, when you upload your artwork you can crop it down to capture the best part for use on the products.
Q: Who do I contact for other questions?
A: Jen Liu or Amber Halaka, our amazing co-chairs.
