Too Much, Too Crazy: A Pandemic, A Presidential Election, and Global Health Reporting
Friday, November 6th | 12 PM CST

As part of the Institute for Global Health's First Friday seminar series, we will be joined by Brian W. Simpson and Dayna Kerecman Myers, editor-in-chief and managing editor of Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health's Global Health NOW, to discuss global health reporting through not only an election year, but also during a pandemic. As a key forum for new and information for the global health community, Global Health NOW (GHN) is a free weekday e-newsletter, delivering exclusive stories and commentaries, breaking news, and news summaries related to global health.

This webinar will be taking place through Zoom, and requires registration. Those registered will receive an email with a link to join. Note, this link should not be shared, as it will be unique to you.

Apply to Present at Virtual Global Health Day!
The Institute for Global Health's annual Global Health Day event is an exciting opportunity to learn about emerging topics in global health at Northwestern, explore the breadth and depth of current research in Chicago and around the world, network with colleagues, and celebrate the leadership and achievements of our leaders and membership.

Given the nature of the current pandemic, this year's Global Health Day events will be hosted completely online. We are optimistic, however about the opportunity to more thoroughly engage all of our global health affiliates, partners, and community members with this format.

Internal and external students, faculty, community members and partners from all disciplines are welcome to participate and apply to virtually present posters on projects relevant to global health.

Student presenters who choose to work in groups should only submit one abstract per group. If you have a mentor, obtaining his/her guidance early in the abstract preparation process is highly encouraged.

The deadline to submit abstracts is Monday, October 26th. Abstracts should be no more than 500 words. Presenters, or a representative, must be available to present their work (virtually) at Global Health Day on Friday, December 4th. All accepted applicants will receive more details about the poster presentation format and presenter expectations in the coming weeks.
