Hello All,

Welcome to this weeks notices and prayer points.

FAITH STORIES

We are wanting to inspire and encourage people in our 10am online service by sharing faith stories. It may be the story of how you came to faith or an example of how God has moved in your life. It could be an example from years ago or something that happened just the other day. It doesn't have to be dramatic it may just be a simple blessing, a moment or situation where you were aware of God at work. If you would be willing to share. Don't be shy! Get in touch with Phil.

Made for Giving is back! And it's moved online...

Our much-awaited annual fundraising event, Made for Giving, is taking place again this year. Due to the current situation, we are unable to hold a physical event in November, but we will still be showcasing the work of local artists and makers online.

This means that you can do your Christmas shopping from the comfort of your own home! We are also running our usual Made for Giving raffle with the chance to win some very exciting prizes.

You can now purchase packs of Wellspring Christmas cards with beautiful, original designs by local artists on our online shop and at Harrogate Library, and you can buy raffle tickets on our raffle page, so please do click on the links below to purchase these.
https://www.numonday.com/shop/wellsprings-online-made-for-giving-store/

The rest of our Made for Giving products, including jewellery, ceramics, Christmas decorations, and our first-ever Wellspring calendars, will be available to buy at the link above throughout the month of November.

It will also be possible to buy gift cards that will support the work of Wellspring. For example, you can buy a gift card that pays the cost of a counselling session for one of our clients, or pays for resources for an art therapy session for a child. You will receive a lovely certificate when you make a purchase.

We are using NuMonday, a trusted online selling platform where artists across the country sell their products. Whenever you buy a product from Wellspring's section on the NuMonday website, you are helping to support our work. The link above takes you directly to Wellspring's page on NuMonday.

  • £150 vouchers for Weetons
  • A short break in a Lakeland cottage
  • A round of golf for 4
  • RHS day passes
  • Bettys goodies!

Click on the link above to enter the raffle or ring the Wellspring office on 01423 881 881. The draw will be held on 30th November. We will then contact the winners.

Would you like to be involved?
As we continue to do online services we are wanting to invite a wider group of people to be involved in the following:
  • The Bible reading in our Sunday 10am Online service
  • Leading the prayers in our Sunday 10am online Service

  • Leading Morning Prayer on facebook during the week.

If you would be interested in any of the above please contact Phil.

Community Owned Woodland

Long Lands Common is the new initiative to turn 30 acres of farmland off Bogs Lane, Starbeck, into a community-owned woodland nature reserve.

The team that is running the project - Long Lands Common Ltd (a community benefit society made up of local volunteers) - aims to raise the money to buy the land by offering shares in the site to the community. Thus everyone in the community will have a share in the development and long-term care of the site.

Starbeck School and Henshaws College have expressed a keen interest in the project and we are optimistic that we can raise the £300,000 to buy the farmland: we have already raised £100,000 in the first three weeks that shares have been on sale.
