Thanksgiving Sabbath.
This weekend - Sabbath 17th October, 12pm
A special joint service
Around this time of year it is common for churches to have a 'harvest' service. So, this year, because of the covid situation we have decided to do things slightly differently!

All 3 churches will worship together this coming Sabbath, and our focus will be on how God has blessed us as people, and how God has blessed us that we may also be a blessing to others.
Donations
Often during a 'harvest' service people will bring food to the church, and then afterwards this food will be shared with those in need. Following this tradition we would like to invite you to do one of the following:
  • Donate packed or canned food (non-perishable, with a long use by date), hygiene products, toiletries, wipes
  • Donate new or second-hand gloves, scarves, jackets, hats, shoes etc
  • Pledge a donation (message Pastor Adam on 089 2111 507 to say how much you are willing to pledge don't send any money yet, just say how much you're willing to pledge)
All of the above (donations & pledges) will go to the Adventist Community Services ministry which involves people from all of our churches across Dublin.
Bringing Your Donations
If you haven't yet brought your donations, we would ask that you bring your donations - food, clothes etc - to Ranelagh Church on
  1. Tuesday morning, 20th October between 10am and 1pm or
  2. Thursday evening, 22nd October between 6pm and 9pm
if you live in Co Dublin. If you live outside Co Dublin or cannot bring your donated items during one of these times, please contact Pastor Adam to work out how we can collect the donations.
Future in-person worship services.
We hope that after the level 3 restrictions expire we will be able to open up Ranelagh church building for in-person worship for up to 35 people. We would ask everyone who is interested in attending an in-person worship service to let us know using an online form. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Laughter - the best medicine!
A man was driving along the road and saw a rabbit hopping across the middle of it. He swerved to avoid hitting the rabbit, but unfortunately the rabbit jumped in front of the car and was hit.

The driver, being a sensitive man as well as an animal lover, pulled over to the side of the road and got out to see what had become of the rabbit. Much to his dismay, the rabbit was dead. The driver felt awful and he began to cry.

A woman driving down the same road saw the man crying on the side of the road and pulled over. She stepped out of the car and asked the man what was wrong.

"I feel terrible," he explained. "I accidentally hit this rabbit and killed it."

The woman told the man not to worry and that she knew what to do. She went to the boot of her car and pulled out a spray can. She walked over to the limp, dead rabbit, and sprayed the contents of the can onto the rabbit.

Miraculously, the rabbit came back to life, jumped up, waved it paw at the two people and hopped down the road.

Ten metres away teh rabbit stopped, turned around, waved at the two people again, hopped down the road another ten metres, turned, waved, and hopped another 10m, turned and waved and repeated this again and again until it was out of sight.

The man was astonished. He couldn't figure out what substance could be in the woman's spray can. He ran over to her and demanded, "What was in your spray can? What did you spray onto the rabbit?"

The woman turned the can round so that the man could read the label.

It said: "Hair Spray - Restores Live to Dead Hair. Adds permanent wave."
