Stay Connected!

Issue 24

Hello <<First Name>>,

Supporting each other is part of who we are.
Holding out a helpful hand may make that difference to someone's day.
That someone maybe as close as in the next room, next door, next village or maybe is someone a world away.
Our mission is to reach out - no matter how near or far our neighbour is.

Stay Connected with what matters. Pass this onto a friend (or stranger!) about this e-letter and encourage others to sign up here so they too can be connected.

Check out the Greystones Parish and Kilquade Parish websites during the week for information too.

WEEKEND LITURGY

29th Sunday in Ordinary Time

This Sunday our focus turns to Mission and the Missionary activity across the world.

Growing up, experience of Mission was two fold, on one hand, the priests who came to the village in the depths of winter. We trekked to Mass in the dark each night for a week to be preached at.  And on the way home from the church, you made your way through the stands selling every kind of religious goods imaginable and some unimaginable.
And on the other hand, those out in the world spreading the Gospel to those who did not have ‘Jesus’ in their lives.  I did not see myself as Missionary.

Today, I know that I share, along with all others, in the mission of God in responding to the Spirit active and at work in everything and everyone. Our missionary task is to enable that Spirit at work in our own lives, to be visible so as to help others come to the realisation of the love and hope that exists in our world.

Celebrating Mission Sunday
Throughout the world, many people leave their homes.
Some leave in hope of a better future, some leave to help create a better future.
Some are forced to go, some go by choice.

This weekend, two outreach projects in the Pastoral area will be highlighted at Mass and on the
websites: the missionary work Fr. William Stuart in Lebanon and of SAAS in Kenya.
Let our mission be to support them in our prayers and in other ways if possible.
We invite you for next Sunday 25th October to create your own prayer space that represents God's bounty in you life at the moment.
Send us a photo with a one line explanation... We would love to hear from you.
NOVEMBER IS A TIME TO REMEMBER

We invite your family members to come together to fill in the November Altar list for your deceased loved ones. Envelopes for the Altar list of the dead are available from the back of the church. Mass will be offered on each 1st Friday of the month through the year for all those who names on the Altar List of the Dead.
