cover of ML Memphis Law Magazine - Fall 2020

The Fall 2020 issue of ML – Memphis Law, our award-winning law school magazine, comes at a time of unforeseen change and circumstances in our country.

From pandemic-related issues influencing the lives of everyone across the world, to ongoing issues of racial injustice and cultural change, this year has presented historic challenges. Our School of Law has been able to develop and continue to offer innovative opportunities for our students throughout the year due to the flexibility and innovation of its faculty, staff and students.

In this issue, we examine the forgotten role of Black women in the ratification of the 19th Amendment as a tribute to the 100th anniversary of this monumental piece of history. Additionally, we've put the spotlight on several current students and their unique externship experiences working remotely during the pandemic. This issue also examines how one of our legal clinics adapted to the changes presented by COVID-19 by developing cross-state partnerships to address the eviction crisis we face during the pandemic.

We invite you to read these stories and more as we celebrate the most recent accomplishments of the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law.

Sincerely,

M. David Rudd
