Friends of Badock's Wood AGM
Monday 19th October at 7.30 p.m. via Zoom
Do come along!

The papers - minutes, accounts etc are on our website
Agenda and Annual report

Our constitution requires us to hold an Annual General Meeting to report back on the previous year's activities and financial transactions and to elect the officers of the group. The current officers are willing to stand again but we do need your support.

It is important to us, therefore, that we have people attend so that this can be done in a right and proper manner which of course includes the fact that we need to be quorate so we would be grateful if you would come to the online AGM .

We are always looking for new members to help run the group and whilst current officers are willing to stand again others may put themselves forward for election or for a coopted role on the Committee.

It is also your chance to ask the committee questions about what the group has been doing over the previous year - technically March 2019 - Feb 2020 in the written reports - but we can provide updates about activities since then.

Our work has been very curtailed this year by the constraints due to the virus but like many of you, we have been regularly walking in Badock's Wood and keeping on eye on how things are going.

Thank you.

In order for us to send you the Zoom link you will need to register, please, using this

Dog control Public Space Protection Order
The city council is currently consulting on the renewal of the Public Space Protection Order that relates to dog control in the city. The consultation is now live here www.bristol.gov.uk/PSPODogControl

The proposal is to retain the current rules on dogs on leads and clearing up dog mess for another three years. The regulations include a list of spaces that are exempt to the ‘dogs on lead’ requirement which includes nearly all parks, but not fenced play areas.

Consultation closes 9th November 2020

Bristol Naturalists' Society holds regular walks and talks every month.  They also very kindly lead many of the walks we have in Badock's Wood.  FOBW is a member of the "Bristol Nats" but you may want to join up yourselves to be in touch with people who share your enthusiasm whether it's birds, spiders, fungi, moths etc.  For more information you can visit their website to find out current information during the pandemic and to become a member of the Society.  You can also find them on Facebook for up to date information.
Please report problems in the wood such as
overflowing litter bins, fallen trees, blocked paths etc to Bristol City Council through their online reporting system at:

Donations
Just to let you know....
We don't currently charge for membership of the Friends, but do welcome donations towards our costs.  Most of our walks leaders are kind enough to offer their time free but we also have to pay for room hire, leaflets, posters, etc and we also make some donations to organisations whose members kindly lead walks.  Where we have to pay for room hire, walks leaders, etc., we do ask that attendees make a donation.
You can donate at most of our events and walks - there is usually a collecting jar - alternatively if you would like to make a one off or regular donation to the group please reply to this email and we will let you have the address  / bank details.  Thank you.
