From Our Music Director:
When this year began, who would have ever thought that we would not sing Easter, Patriotic or other General Anthems over these past few months.  I am quite positive that missing this "family" and being deprived of serving our congregation via song has been challenging.  While we recognize the continued risk, I also acknowledge that singing is one of primary ways we, as singers, worship the Lord, so I wanted to begin gathering us again… as safely as possible.  Here is what I'm thinking:

--Short (likely bi-weekly) rehearsals
--Masks worn from the fellowship hall, to the choir room (to grab your folders), then to/from the sanctuary where we will rehearse
--Socially distanced seating
--Singing for no more than 30 minutes total (finished by 7:45pm)
--If you prefer, you may sing with a mask on, too!  I may even look into purchasing singer masks (which stand out from the nose/mouth a bit to aid in better breathing).

If you are game, we’ll start this coming Wednesday, 10/21.  7pm, in the sanctuary.

We will look at familiar hymns/songs, and will think ahead to a Lessons & Carols service.  The Advent season will look much different this year, but perhaps it will afford us the opportunity to concentrate more on the message, and incorporate lots of congregational singing and our favorite hymns.

Of course, we will monitor the evolving situation with the virus and will adjust as needed.  If you do not yet feel comfortable singing within a group, I completely understand.  But if you do feel comfortable, let’s begin making a joyful choir-filled noise to the Lord!
