Hello Beloved Friends,

The last time I wrote, I was about to embark on a ten day rain song challenge, ten new songs in ten days. My friend, Tanya, put me up to it, thinking that it would be a good exercise for me. The idea of writing ten new songs in ten days was daunting, but even more so was the idea of doing it all "live." I accepted the challenge, knowing that it was a muscle I needed to learn to flex.

I had never gone "live" on Facebook before, and doing so forced me to get over my some of my perfectionistic tendencies. If I suddenly forgot the words, oh well. If my fingers were so nervous they couldn't find the strings, I had to keep playing anyway! It was the closest thing I've had to a live performance in a long time and it was quite refreshing. It was also a challenge to write ten songs in ten days. Granted, most of them I still consider "works in progress," but I am in love with many of them and will turn them into full songs someday soon!
