[SCM Office] Newsletter October 23rd

New Health and Safety Protocol

This week we received an update from Public Health regarding safety protocols for students who have had symptoms and are ready to return to school. Students with a negative COVID test result may now return after 24 hours symptom free. Students may also return with a doctor's note, which can specify their return date. We will be updating our Operating Plan to reflect this new protocol.

We are encouraging all students with symptoms to consult with their doctor for their specific symptoms/illness and to determine the best course of action to return to school. We are also asking that when a student is sick, parents keep siblings home if possible to reduce sharing illness at school.

Please continue to send any attendance updates to attendance@scms.org. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to adapt to new guidance from Public Health.

Board Update

October 23rd, 2020

Thank you for casting your ballots. The results are in! At our October board meeting we welcomed Amy Geller, Eden Mendel and Pearl Vickers as new board directors. John Haskins was re-elected for his second term. Brian Heim and Josh Blick were elected for their first full terms following the expiration of their summertime appointments. The slate of officers approved for this year are: Chris Ohlsen - President, Trey Garlough - Vice President, Nikki LeGassick - Treasurer and Christine McBroom - Secretary. The external audit of our school finances has been completed and received by the Finance committee. The Board was also presented with (and approved) a revised budget for the current school year...

Hello SCM Families,

It's time to start thinking about the yearbook! If you are interested in being a part of the yearbook team, please take a moment to fill out the yearbook volunteer form! No prior experience needed!

Wavecrest Information Night

November 12th, 2020 at 6:45 pm

You are invited to learn about the Junior High Program and hear alumni share how their SCM experience helped them in their transition to high school and beyond.

We encourage upper elementary families and community members with children moving up to junior high to attend. If you have any friends with children not currently enrolled at SCM who would be interested, please let them know about this event!

Our SCM Virtual Update will be held every Wednesday at 2:00 pm. This meeting will be hosted by Kim Saxton and will give you an opportunity to get the latest updates about our school and plans for next year. We ask that all questions be submitted ahead of time using the RSVP form.
