Thanksgiving and the Power of Myth:

A Video Message

Did you ever wonder if Unity Chapel of Light might be the kind of spiritual community that would welcome you?

The following 79 second video should answer that question.

YOU BELONG HERE

The Response:

On Sunday October 4th we conducted our first Sunday service in our sanctuary since we shutdown in person face-to-face services. To ensure the safety of our staff and all those who choose to join us in the building on Sunday mornings, we have established additional cleaning practices. On Sunday mornings before the service staff and volunteers sanitize the seating in the sanctuary, and other hard surfaces that you may touch, including door knobs, the  water fountain, and restroom fixtures including toilet flushing levers, and sink faucets.  Thanks to Dana Fanizzi , Joe Kasper, and Lynda Schumacher for coming in early on Sunday mornings to help ensure your safety.

Thanksgiving Eve Concert
Unity Chapel of Light Welcomes

Harpist Kirk Kupensky

Join us at 7 PM on Wednesday November 25th Live in our Sanctuary or
Live Streamed to Your Computer or Mobile Device or on Roku TV

Kirk Kupensky’s career as a harpist has been a diverse one, including forays into the realm of popular and new age music in addition to classical. He studied harp with the former first chair harpists to the Cleveland, Berlin, and London Philharmonic Orchestras, and has made numerous appearances as recitalist and concerto soloist in the U.S. and in Europe.

Performance highlights include appearances at New York’s Merkin Concert Hall, music festivals in Montevarchi and Gubbio Italy, and featured soloist at the World Harp Congress in Paris, France. Kirk also had the honor of playing a private recital for Lord

Edmond de Rothschild and his family at their estate home in England.  In addition, Kirk gave the American premier performance of the Concerto for harp and orchestra by film composer Nino Roto (whose film scores include “The Godfather” and Romeo and Juliet”). Kirk himself made an appearance in film (as a harpist) on the United Paramount Network TV series “Legend”.

Kirk has made appearances on the National Public Radio programs “Performance Today” and “Music from the Hearts of Space.” He appeared on KUSC in Los Angeles to describe the perils he underwent while giving a concert during the LA riots!

During our Sunday morning shutdown, Kirk played for one of our Sunday services via a video recorded just for the occasion. We are happy to provide you with that video. This is just a sample of what you will hear in Mr. Kupensky’s concert.

Kirk will play selections from his first CD, The Eternal Dreamer and from his latest CD Medieval Prayers and Celtic Dreams. With a little coaxing I think we can convince Kirk to preview a song or two from his soon to be released CD.  This one-hour concert is a beautiful way to begin the holiday season.

At our annual congregational meeting, we elected three new board members.  Kennedy Edwards and Deb Little will serve three year terms.  Ulius Benson will serve a two year term filling a board seat created by the resignation of Tom Borges.  The congregation also confirmed the boards appointment of Christine Moncheck to fill the position created earlier this year by the resignation of Bryan Early.

We wholeheartedly welcome these dedicated members to our leadership team.  If you would like to read the bios of our three elected members, you can find them here.

Holiday Shopping Hints

As you begin thinking about Christmas shopping remember your Unity bookstore. What better gift than the gift of inspiration. Our bookstore in open on Sunday mornings after our service o through the week by appointment.

Another option for many of us is Amazon.com If you go to smile.amazon.com and designate Unity Chapel of Light as your preferred charity, Amazon gives. Amazon donates 0.5% of the price of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to the charitable organization of your choice. Now you can give a gift to your loved ones and Unity at the same time.

As we open the sanctuary for service beginning on Sunday October 4th, we will also open the Bookstore. Consider picking up a new book to support your spiritual growth process.  We highly recommend the work of author and Unity minister Rev. Joan Gattuso.  Joan is a "daughter' for this congregation. Please consider one of the following books. Your spirit will thank you for it.

For everyone's safety, we ask that only one person at a time shop the bookstore.

Rev. Joan Gattuso
Biography

Nationally acclaimed author and speaker Joan Gattuso is one of the most insightful and compelling teachers of our time. She has inspired millions internationally through her weekly messages, stirring lecture and workshops, and bestselling books, A Course in Love and A Course in Life. Joan's most recent book, The Lotus Still Blooms, received the Silver Nautilus Award and had outstanding reviews in Tricycle, Body and Soul, Science of Mind, and Unity magazines. It is destined to become a spiritual classic.
Joan was born in Akron, Ohio, where she lived a short time before her family relocated to Gloucester, Massachusetts. At a young age Joan developed a great love for New England, and in its beauty and comfort she began her early quest for spiritual enlightenment.

Over the years Joan's openness to exploring life's many opportunities has allow her to evolve through the highs and lows the come with living a full life. She has withstood and triumphed over difficult relationships, a cancer diagnosis, and the struggles of building and maintaining a sustainable church. Joan's often painful history helped solidify her commitment to healing the past and attracting joyous circumstances and loving relationships into her life. Joan has imparted these critical life lessons over the course of her career as a teach, speaker and author, and she has become a highly sought-after mentor and guide.
Through insights into her own life Joan has gained an intense understanding of our deep connection to a Higher Power and the inner workings of human relationships and their potential when they are partnered with spiritual balance..

Joan has finely tuned her life codes through intense spiritual studies in becoming a Unity minister and through years of study with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the spiritual and political leader of the Tibetan people. She has embraced his teaching that the purpose of life is to be happy. Through compassion, humor, wisdom and spiritual insights Joan gently guides her audiences in the steps to get there, showing them how to integrate happiness into their everyday lives and maintain their personal inner joy to be liberated from suffering.

Within a two-week period in the mid-1990s, Joan was encouraged by two transformational speakers, Wayne Dyer and Marianne Williamson to write a book on relationships. She took their suggestions to heart, and the resulting bestseller was A Course in Love. She has been creating her message for living a fuller life ever since.

Joan authors a regular column called "Living a Noble Life" in Unity magazine. She has also been published in Science of Mind, Tricycle and Hawaii magazines.
A dynamic speaker relating her knowledge to all paths of life, Joan Gattuso guides those from the most willing to the most reluctant seeker into a deeper understanding of their exceptional possibilities within this present existence.

Joan is joyfully living her philosophy of a happy, holy relationship with her husband, author David Alexander in Hawaii and continues to be a beacon of light to those seeking a more triumphant life experience.
