Look what is growing in our garden
Dear <<First Name>>,
Have you noticed how beautiful the sky has been this week? I make a point of taking a short stroll around campus at the end of each day, often winding up in the garden outside the Music Room. If I time it right, the sun is low but still bright, with its rays bouncing off the clouds creating what is referred to in pop culture as a 'vanilla sky', named after Monet's painting Seine at Argenteuil.
With the extra nip in the air, I felt it was time to winterize the active beehive by wrapping it up in a thermal blanket to help the bees over the colder months. My timing perfectly aligned with Grade 4 who was wrapping up a gardening class with Ms. Faryan Amadio who invited me to join them. The children were filled with curiosity, asking question after question about the bees, my veiled hat, and the honeycomb in my hand. As a parting gift, I left the honeycomb for their nature table.
I'll wrap up my musings by sharing that October is National Principals' Month. I hope you will join me in acknowledging the leadership and dedication of Lorna Fortin, Principal; Sarah Vondruska, Vice-Principal; and Gideon Weick, Pedagogical Manager, for all that they do in support of our school, students, and community. If you wish to read a message from the School District, you may view it here.
As always, thank you for reading.
