CHRISTIES GROUP INITIATIVE

We are extremely thankful to the Christies Group, including The Boathouse and Crabby Jacks, for continuing their initiative to raise money for Autism Guernsey.  20p is added to each food bill at any of the Christies Group restaurants after midday, however this is totally discretionary and customers have the option to opt out.

This initiative is kindly sponsored by Enjoy Guernsey, a free app for locals. https://www.enjoy.gg

ROCKMOUNT INITIATIVE

We are also extremely grateful to https://www.therocky.gg/ for also adding 10p to each food bill to raise money for Autism Guernsey.  This is totally discretionary and customers have the option to opt out if they prefer.

GOLDEN GUERNSEY GOAT TRAIL

The 52 fibreglass goats are currently being painted by artists and groups in the local community, and every goat will be different.

The goat trail will commence mid May and continue until the end of August.  The goats will then be auctioned at St. James in September.

An App will be available to purchase for £2 to enter into a competition to win an iPad, generously donated by Sure Guernsey.

MY PRUDENTIAL RIDE
Autism Guernsey was so proud of the two teams who rode in the 'My Prudential Ride' around Guernsey to raise money for our Charity.

SWIMARATHON 2020

Our Autism Guernsey team had great fun at this year's Skipton Swimarathon held at Beau Sejour and managed to swim an incredible 110 lengths to raise money for Guernsey Alzheimers Assocation.  Well done to everybody who participated and supported this amazing charity.

TRAINING & COURSES
EARLYBIRD TEENLIFE PROGRAMME

Following funding from the Christmas Lottery, two of our Facilitators have been delivering training to parents of teenagers with autism.  The aim of the programme is to bring parents together to share information, experiences and ideas in a structured way.  The subjects covered include self-esteem, stress & anxiety, puberty and education.
ANXIETY GREMLIN PROGRAMME

Rothschilds have kindly provided funding for Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for children and young people with autism under the age of 25. This is currently being delivered in the form of the Anxiety Gremlin Programme for children with extreme anxiety.  The programme uses fun and activities to teach the children how to manage their anxiety by changing how they think and act.
HOW CAN YOU HELP SUPPORT AUTISM GUERNSEY

Lottery

The primary aim of the Autism Guernsey Lottery  is to ensure the sustainability of the Charity. Autism Guernsey offers a range of support in the local community including an Outreach Service where staff give one-to-one help to individuals and families. Demand outstrips our capacity and therefore we have a significant waiting list with referrals for support being received on a daily basis.

The charity receives no financial support from the States and has to rely on fundraising and charitable donations to continue the valuable work within the community.

Donation

If you would like to make a donation, please either send us a cheque made payable to Autism Guernsey or you can request bank details for a bank transfer from Autism Guernsey at T: 232879 or office@autismguernsey.org.gg.  We are also happy to accept cash donations.

Raffle Prizes

A significant part of our fundraising events is raffles and we are always looking for raffle prizes, however big or small.  If you have anything you would like to donate, please contact Autism Guernsey on T: 232879 or office@autismguernsey.org.gg

KIND WORDS!
"I just wanted to let you know that XXX has made fantastic progress at XXX.  He had a solid but shaky start last week, but had an epiphany of sorts on his walk home on Friday.  He is going in every day without fuss, completing all his tasks during lesson time and trying hard to fit in.  I know that it is still early days, but I wanted you to share in the blessing of this news. I'm sure that you have had a hand in this with your positive input and patience with XXX over the past few weeks. We are so very grateful to you for your help and support.  You have definitely made a difference."

"Talking to you and learning about autism, has changed everything. Everything I thought I knew about the past, and everything I assumed for the future. Thanks to you, and Autism Guernsey, pointing me in the right direction I have feel like I've got a second chance at life."
