THAT'S SO DALLAS
Imagine if the State Fair of Texas's defining attraction was a huge freaking star instead of Big Tex. If architect George Dahl had his way, a "Lone Star" entrance would greet fairgoers. Yeah, it's weird. St. Louis did it, though. (Flashback Dallas)

BIZ BUZZ
Dallas-based Kainos Capital is acquiring Nutrisystem from Tennessee-based Tivity Health for a steal. Kainos is adding the weight-loss management company for $575 million, less than half of what Tivity paid for it in 2019. Between Keto, Paleo and other new diets, Nutisystem sustained $377 million in losses and took a $200-million impairment charge because of the poor economy. Nutrisystem's sales bounced just a touch during the pandemic, earning $320 million in the first six months of the year. The deal, which includes South Beach Diet, will round out Kainos' portfolio of Kettle Cuisine, Good 2 Grow, Ferraro Foods, JJ’s Bakery and BeautyBio. (Dallas Morning News)
