THE CONCLUSION
The 2019-2020 Election Cycle has (almost) concluded. Total spending on all media from 1/1/2019 - 11/3/2020 was $8,395,330,216 across 5,618 elections. In those elections, we tracked a total of 9.4M ad airings.

The Presidential race saw a total of $3.0B.
The NC Senate race was the most expensive non-Presidential race with $264M. 
California was the state with the most spending at $653M.

COVID-19 
This week, 574 political ads aired on TV that referenced the Coronavirus. Here are the three ads with the most airings:

"Control Over the Virus" from Joe Biden, 10,963 airings
"Fix the Economy" from Joe Biden, 9,228 airings
"The First Step" from Future Forward, 4,705 airings
SPENDING TOP-LINES
The final week of advertising activity saw  $397.9M spent across 2,142 elections. 

Los Angeles, CA was the market that saw the most spending at $18.6M.

The election with the most spending was the U.S. Presidential with a total of $104.2M

The top non-presidential race was South Carolina Senate with a total of $14.0M. 

Both GA Senate races are headed for runoffs. Both Warnock and Ossoff have started placing money, and Warnock went up with this new ad.

US PRESIDENTIAL 2020
Traditional Media:  
Joe Biden spent $27.6M for the last week of the election. His top two markets were Phoenix, AZ and Philadelphia, PA.

Donald Trump spent $6.1M and RNC/Trump spent $5.0M. The top markets for RNC/Trump were Phoenix, AZ and Charlotte, NC.

Digital Media:
Joe Biden was the top digital advertiser last week, spending $23.7M on Facebook and Google. Donald Trump spent $14M. Here's a breakdown of Biden's activity:

MARKET MONITOR
There were 79 political advertisers active in Philadelphia, PA - accounting for $7.7M.

The average Early Morning cost per point for 35+ ranged from $527 for candidates to $644 for issue advertisers.

We identified 32 new contracts and 46 rates for this daypart in the market this week.
