Incubator Grants stimulate research in the Faculty by connecting faculty researchers with graduate students who will play an integral role in a specific research project. Students benefit from the financial support and research experience by working closely with faculty members. If you are planning to apply to SSHRC Insight Development Grant (IDG) in 2021, please email Nandini Maharaj. By reaching out, you will help Nandini manage the flow of applications coming through ORE and allow ORE to share proposal development resources with you. The IDG is the only SSHRC program that requires the Canadian Common CV (CCV). 2021 Call for Proposals for the France-Canada Research Fund

SPARC Support for SSHRC Insight Development Grant 2021
Summary of Proposed Research Bootcamp: Tuesday, November 17, 2020 | 10:00 am - 12:30 pm
The SSHRC Insight Development Grant (IDG) competition supports research in its initial stages and is open to emerging and established scholars. UBC Support Programs to Advance Research Capacity (SPARC) offers an information session for applicants, and boot camps with UBC-O, in preparation for the February 2021 IDG competition. Laura Bassi Scholarship
Deadline to submit online application: Wednesday, November 25, 2020
Established by Editing Press in 2018, the scholarship provides editorial assistance to postgraduates and junior academics whose research focuses on neglected topics of study, broadly construed, within their disciplines. The fund covers editorial assistance costs for master's theses, doctoral dissertations, and academic journal articles, respectively. The Canada Research Continuity Emergency Fund is a Tri-Agency program that is part of the Government of Canada's COVID-19 Economic Response Plan. Applications for Canada Research Continuity Emergency Fund research maintenance and ramp-up costs: Monday, November 30, 2020
Canada Research Continuity Emergency Fund (CRCEF) Stage 4 increases the maximum duration of wage support from 12 to 24 weeks. The UBC CRCEF support team will contact faculty who submitted a funding request in Stages 1 and 2 to confirm extended funding requests for eligible salaries in Stage 4. UBC Study Leave Research Grants

UBC Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Seed Program

The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Seed Program provides graduate research assistants, collegial collaborations, and complementary funding for projects, for faculty interested in exploring the impact of their pedagogical choices. SoTL Seed projects should ask meaningful questions about student learning or teaching activities designed to facilitate student learning, with the goal of gathering evidence to answer those questions, and then sharing the results to contribute to broader bodies of knowledge on student learning. UBC Scholarly Publication Fund

The UBC Scholarly Publication Fund assists UBC faculty members with the costs of scholarly publication. Subventions are partial subsidies toward the cost of publishing scholarly works and are commonly requested by publishers and academic presses. UBC Distinguished University Scholars Call for Nominations

The Distinguished University Scholar program recognizes faculty who have distinguished themselves as exceptional scholars. Up to 10 Distinguished University Scholars are conferred across UBC every two years. The Faculty of Education is permitted to submit two nominees for consideration. Faculty nomination dossiers must be submitted to the ORE for internal selection.
