Hey CM Families,

A quick story and then an announcement about a change to Sunday School!

Today I dropped off a simple little Haloween package for each of our church family members at two retirement homes (The Village at Orchard Ridge and Westminster-Canterbury).  It was a collage of Halloween photos that were submitted by many of you, a little note with original Mr. Todd poem, and a little chocolate bar in a bag.  It took less time to prep than it usually takes for us to make an in-person visit, but I am feeling like together we had a win today!

When it feels like so many meaningful traditions are canceled because of COVID-19, it is a good feeling to at least do the good we are able to do!  So here is a challenge I'm making to myself and to all of you:

What good is "on hold" because of COVID-19?  How can you make that happen in a new way?  What ideas for this do you have that you can share with Children's Ministry so that others might join in doing it too?

This Sunday we are moving inside for in-person Sunday School.  There will still also be a virtual option to connect in too.  We will be meeting in Fellowship Hall from 9:15-9:50 preceding outdoor worship.  We will be distanced and masked.

Sunday School will be at 9:15-9:50am. We are moving indoors while following the FPC guidelines for indoor small group gatherings.  We will be meeting in the Fellowship Hall.  At the same time, kids can connect virtually from home via ZOOM!  Mask required.  We have plenty of space to distance!

Our new unit's theme is:

Children's Sunday School Virtual Option

Check out this video from this past Sunday's Outdoor Service.  It's not too late to join the children's choir-- they are having a lot of fun making music together in new and creative ways.  They rehearse on THURSDAYS from 4:30-5:15 in Fellowship Hall.  It's for children ages 4-4th grade.  Please contact Amy Bowman (amybowman07@gmail.com) if you are interested in joining!

This Sunday we are meeting at 10am in the parking lot and that service will be live-streamed via Facebook, YouTube, and it will be available on the church webpage fpcwinc.org/virtual.  If you miss it live, it will still be available following the service.

Make a THANKFUL Pumpkin in November

Here's a simple idea: Get a pumpkin.  Each day for the rest of the month, have all members of your family write something on it that they are thankful for.  Watch your pumpkin become covered with many blessings in your life.  Keep it in a central location so everyone in the family will notice new additions and remember to add one each day.  With lots of focus lately on what isn't.........let's focus on all the good we have to celebrate!
