Dear members of Grow Lightly

We are coming up to this year’s Annual General Meeting. This is to be held on November 29, at 2pm in the Grow Lightly Hub, 12A Silkstone Road, Korumburra, restrictions permitting. You'll receive a formal notice of meeting later, including the agenda.
This letter is essentially an invitation to consider standing for the board of Grow Lightly. This body is an extremely important part of the Grow Lightly community and we would really appreciate you giving serious consideration to nominating. You will find a nomination form below.
What is involved in being on the board? It provides an opportunity to guide the development of Grow Lightly activities, to provide oversight on all financial and staffing arrangements and, in conjunction with all members, staff and other volunteers, to plan for the future. It is immensely important for Grow Lightly to have broadly based board membership so as to offer the best counsel on all policy matters.
The board meets monthly, although all the past six plus meetings have been held remotely. Board members also contribute to the work of one or more committees, one on finance, one on management of day to day affairs and one on staffing matters. These have also been meeting remotely.
The board currently has seven members. Each year several stand down but can be renominated for the forthcoming year. At this stage we also expect members who have served Grow Lightly well over many years to step aside and allow new people to come on board. These changes will allow for fresh perspectives, expertise and energy.
