Dear Living Faith Uniting Church Family and Friends
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you..." John 14:27 NIV
The sunrise over the Sea of Galilee above reminds one of the peace of God that can be found in His creation and in His presence. This last Sunday we explored some ways to move from anxiety towards peace in our lives. I wanted to reiterate a part of that message which I hope will live with each of us for the rest of our lives. True peace originates from and is given to us as a gift from Jesus Christ. People seek peace in many ways - through motivational speakers, inspiring politicians, new-age practices or certain places. Although these methods may settle us from time to time, the only lasting peace is found in our Lord Jesus. He brings a form of peace that transcends human understanding and abilities - that is peace indeed!
If you have been struggling with anxiety or fear for some time, I want to encourage you to watch last Sunday's service video through our website and by clicking on the "Online Ministry" tab. Many people are struggling with this emotional difficulty and there are ways to ease the pressure through Scriptural truths.
Why not close your eyes for a moment and imagine yourself walking with your hand in Jesus' nail-pierced hand, along the shore of the Sea of Galilee above. What would you say to Him? What would He say to you? Linger in His presence in this imaginative moment which mysteriously reflects the truth that Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us.
