November 2020 Newsletter
Update from Project Manager
Helen Walker, Civic University Network Project Manager

Welcome to the latest edition of the Civic University Network newsletter.
I have to be honest; our next newsletter was not scheduled to go out for another few weeks, however so much activity has taken place that we felt the need for a ‘bonus edition’.
Our network webinars continue to be popular; the outputs from our event last week with the UPP Foundation can be found via the link in the section below, along with details of our London Roundtable, NHS collaboration,  and our very first Network workshop on creating a civic university agreement. We are also in discussions with a variety of different stakeholders about future webinars, so watch this space for even more exciting event announcements!
As a network, we place our members at the heart of everything we do. Our aim is to provide rich content and informative events that support institutions along each stage of their civic journey but also encourage a community of practice. We are excited to announce that our members' area is almost ready for launch; this area will provide you with exclusive access to events, resources, potential research opportunities and a members' networking forum. We are continuously developing content, so please do get in touch if you would like to write a blog on the great work that your institution is doing, or equally the challenges you are currently facing.

We hope you find this newsletter informative.  Please forward it to any colleagues you think it may interest and they too can register for future editions using the subscribe button below:

Putting collaborative research at the heart of civic engagement in Leeds

Last week, the University of Leeds published a report outlining the findings from a review of collaboration between academics at the University of Leeds and policy-makers at Leeds City Council. In our latest guest blog, the team from the Leeds Social Sciences Institute explain the thinking behind the Review and its role in furthering a civic mission in the city.
