Dear Colleague,

Welcome to our November Newsletter.

Our third annual conference entitled Understanding Social Macroeconomics brought together threads running through our thirty-seven research projects. If we were to choose two words to summarise the event, they would be ‘social interaction’.

We warmly thank all of the 40 speakers for their great contributions, and the many participants for making the event such a success. The recordings of all sessions are being uploaded on our website here.

On 12th November we host our third annual Women in Macroeconomics Conference as part of the ESRC’s Festival of Social Sciences 2020. We have terrific speakers exploring diversity and representation as vehicles for scientific advancement. The programme is here.

On 24th November we are delighted to team-up with Alex Mihailov and Reading University for a one-day conference on Macroeconomics and Reality reflecting on Christopher Sims’s seminal paper. The full programme exploring new analytical methods is here.

In case you missed it, our competition on Complexity in Macroeconomics is open here. We really encourage submissions from young researchers, and please do forward the details to anyone you know who might be interested.

All information, research papers and videos are on our website. If you would like to join any of our events, please ask Richard at r.arnold@niesr.ac.uk.

Thank you, stay safe and best wishes,

Angus Armstrong
Director, Rebuilding Macroeconomics
