Video with Embedded Questions
Like many of you, I am working to adapt to teaching in the pandemic. One strategy I have found useful is embedding questions in my video lessons. This keeps students accountable and attentive. The multiple-choice is auto-scored and the short answer is easy to grade using the app that lets me scroll through the same question for each student.
If you teach social studies, you may be interested in my pre-made distance learning products at TeachersPayTeachers. In October, I posted a five-part series for United States History on the English colonies and a four-part series for Global History on the French Revolution and the rise of nationalism.
Here's a free sample:

New Performance Assessment App
As my classroom moves to paperless, there seemed one last step to take: devise a paperless way to score student performances.
The new performance assessment app lets you score from your laptop as you observe a student performance task such as a debate, presentation, skit, student-made video assignment, or on-task.
New rubrics have been installed for this purpose and subscribers are welcome to suggest new ones.

Rubric Scoring Upgrade
The rubric scoring system upgrade included new score buttons in each rubric dimension. Now instead of scrolling back and forth between the dropdown boxes and the rubric, you can click the rubric itself.
This upgrade applies to the Inbox, Writing Task, Discussion Forum, and new Performance Assessment tasks.

Google Classroom
An important goal this year is to develop increasing integration with Google Classroom from Innovation Assessments.
Don't forget that if you curate your class online assignments in Google Classroom, you can post tasks from Innovation Assessments into your Google Classroom.
Innovation Assessments has some advantages over the Google Classroom Classwork feed. For example, I like to hide my units once we're done with them and keep the playlist tidy. Classroom does not allow this yet. When you hide an Innovation Assessments activity, students can no longer access it from Google Classroom.
