Maercker PTA knows that a strong partnership among our families, school leaders and community members is important to the success of our students and school. That’s why we are participating in the National PTA School of Excellence program, which grows partnerships between PTAs and schools to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being of all students.
We need your help! As part of the process, National PTA requests feedback from families, administrators and teachers at two points in the school year—the beginning and the end. Your feedback is CRITICAL to help us improve our family-school partnership and achieve excellence. Your opinion matters - please help us learn what's working and what's not!
Please take 5 minutes to reflect on your experience at this school and complete the below survey. This survey is completely anonymous. Please submit it by Monday, November 9, 2020. We will use the results of this survey as a foundational guide for what needs to be improved and how PTA can help bridge those gaps.

There is still time to sell giftwrap, gifts, and frozen cookie dough (and collect Coop prizes!) to raise funds to continue funding PTA programs for our children. Holmes and Maercker students have received catalogs in their backpacks with the exception of remote students at Holmes who will receive catalogs on their supply pick up day, this Friday, Nov 6th. All catalogs are available in a digital format as well.
The sale runs through November 10, at which time all paper and/or electronic submissions are due in school and/or online.
In thoughtful consideration for situations our families might be facing, the PTA is trying to limit the amount of fundraising we're doing this school year in other events. This catalog sale is usually our biggest fundraiser. Last year it brought in around $10,000! It's one of the best ways to support the PTA since we get a substantial portion of the proceeds from each sale.

New this year for our district, PTA is offering a fantastic opportunity to enter a 50-year old national art competition for students K-8. Each year, the competition has inspired 300,000 students to create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme.
The theme for the 2020-2021 program year is I Matter Because.... Students submit their completed works of art in one or all of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts. The deadline for submission is November 13, 2020.
To get started and access all the instructions, your student should Add a New Classroom to their Google Classroom Page with the code: a4z3g6h
Students will likely need some guidance with adding a new classroom, competition instructions, and entry forms. We have our Reflections Committee ready to help! Please contact the following members if you need assistance:
Holmes: Mrs. Beglen (sbeglen@maercker.org) or Mrs. Blake (lblake@maercker.org)
Maercker: Ms. Chick (mchick@maercker.org)
