Celebrating our western Sydney Woodland wonders and its volunteers on the International Day of the Volunteer...
Knowledge sharing event with special presentations to celebrate the natural values of western Sydney and the Cumberland Plain Threatened Ecological Communities, particularly the Cumberland Plain Woodland (CPW).
Includes facilitated sessions to capture positive participant observations and discoveries of the Cumberland Plain Woodland and, restoring bushland across the Cumberland Plain generally.
The information collected in the community facilitation will be used to compile a short booklet on the wonders that can be found on the Cumberland Plain, the work of its amazing volunteers and restoration ideas for the future of western Sydney's remnant vegetation (including grant ideas and needs for research).
Suitable for western Sydney Landcare and Bushcare volunteers and supervisors, western Sydney environmental community groups, Local Government employees working in the western Sydney natural areas space, Local Land Services, private landholders, students, consultants, DPIE, NPWS and others interested in CPW restoration.
Lunch and morning/ afternoon tea provided.
This event is a free event for students, volunteers and pensioners, but participants that are currently working will be asked to donate towards Landcare SOS, specifically for primary and high school environmental education in western Sydney.
