Noisy Nights Hybrid (2nd Edition) - Call for Scores

Noisy Nights provide an outlet to hear emerging new musical ideas and voices.

To wrap up the year, Noisy Nights come back for another hybrid edition to be premiered online on our YouTube channel on Friday 18th December with these outstanding musicians:

  • Tom Hunter – Percussion,
  • Jackie Shave – Violin,
  • Robert Irvine – Cello.

Call for Scores

If you are an
emerging, student or amateur composer (age 18+), this call is for you.

We are looking for 5-min long scores for Marimba (4.3 octave)*, Violin and Cello. Submissions could be seasonally informed. Please note the scores should not include electronics or any pre-recorded parts and consider that concerts are rehearsed and performed in a short timeframe.

Full score and parts in pdf format to be submitted to Rocio Leza (admin@rednoteensemble.com) by 5pm on Thursday 26 November. Late submissions will not be considered.

*Check Tom Hunter's brief guide on writing for marimba on our website

Please help us spread the word by sharing this call with your friends and contacts.

Last month we had a great time playing together at the beautiful Òran Mór in Glasgow with Ruth Morley – Flute, Tony Moffat – Violin, and Robert Irvine – Cello.

This first Noisy Nights Hybrid edition put the focus on the talent of young school-age composers. You can still watch the full concert on our YouTube channel to discover and enjoy these fantastic brand new compositions:
  • Peter Hughes, The Brakes Are Off
  • Alika Arnott, Cerulean
  • Fionn Power, Saecula Seculorum
  • Archie Wallace, Autumn Bazaar
  • Viktor Seifert, LP 816-60
  • Thomas Sewell, Raindrops

While these concerts are offered for free, we hope you will consider making a donation to Help Musicians’ Coronavirus Financial Hardship Fund in lieu of a ticket, thank you!

If you enjoyed these digital projects, please share your experience with us to help plan our next steps -   this very short survey only takes 5 minutes.
