GLOBAL REFUGEE EDUCATOR WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
FOR QUALITY HOLISTIC LEARNING
|
|
|
In January 2021, we will begin work on the “Refugee Educator Workforce Development Project for Quality Holistic Learning". This 18-month global project aims to produce Open Education Resources (OERs)—including online courses, toolkits, assessment tools, facilitation guides, and prototype learning analytics—in at least 3 languages, and which can be adapted for specific contexts, that will deepen the knowledge and skill of educators in 4 thematic areas:
- integration of SEL and psychosocial well-being in lesson planning
- assets-based pedagogy
- project-based learning, and
- differentiating instruction (for equity and inclusion)
The overarching goal of this project is quality holistic learning outcomes, encompassing both academic and socio-emotional learning, for learners in displacement contexts through global refugee educator workforce development.
We invite you to get involved in this project as a partnering organization, as a member of a research team, or as a teacher advisor. We are especially keen to work with educators living and working in refugee camp, urban migration, and displacement contexts. Let us know of your interest to get involved by clicking on the button below or by emailing: jkasper@careyinstitute.org.
