We made it to Mod 2! As we head into the second half of this semester, check out the updates, reminders, and resources below. Thanks for everything you are doing to foster community and belonging at Mac!
Post-Election Support
Today is election day! We know this day comes with a range of emotions for many of you. As always, if your org needs to pause this week, it's ok to make that call. We encourage you to engage with Mac's numerous post-election support resources and guide your org members to appropriate support.
Meet the Student Organizations Committee (SOC)
The SOC is here to help you with anything and everything student organization-related! From providing support and performing audits, to helping you with leadership transitions, we know the ropes. Your org's SOC liaison will be getting in touch soon!
Presence Task! Finance Admin Access
Each org should submit at least one org leader's name to be granted access to the finance elements of your Presence portal. The FAC will follow up with training info for those you list.

Please complete this task even if you don't intend to spend money this fall
Shape future leadership programs - Interview Opportunity!
OSLE wants to learn about your experiences with student leadership at Mac. Your opinions will help us build future programs that are student-driven.

Sign up to participate in a 30 minute interview on Monday, Thursday, or Friday of next week!

Participants will receive an OSLE swag bag for their time :)
Mod 2 - FAQs
Any big policy changes for Mod 2?
Nope! Student orgs should continue to follow the Mac Stays Safer guidance - if a meeting can happen virtual, it should be done virtually. If your org is struggling to operate meaningfully due to this guidance, you can still pause your org's operations. Contact Margaret Smith if you would like to explore this option.

Can my club meet in person?
To maximize safety and accessibility, organizations should not meet in person. Approved on-campus tabling is one exception, please review the tabling policy before proceeding. If you would like to discuss a case-specific potential exception to this guideline, please email Margaret Smith

How much money do we get to spend this fall and how do we access it?

All active student organizations are entitled to $100 in Flexifunds for the Fall 2020 semester. Flexifunds can be used for any org-related expenses (including expenses for only org members) as long as they adhere to MCSG bylaws and college policy. Visit Presence to access spending forms.

Until further notice, to request additional funds please complete the appropriate form below: Questions? Email the Financial Affairs Committee (FAC).

Where can I get a refresher on current policies?
The 2020/2021 Student Organization Handbook and the OSLE Student Org Resources webpage.

Message from Mac Archives!
Did you know the College Archives collects materials about student orgs and student life?

Photos, documents, zines, and other materials from orgs like BLAC in the 1970s or Fossil Free Mac in the 2010s show us what students throughout our history were engaged in. Materials are available for you to see, so let us know if you’re interested in exploring your org’s history!

Make sure you’re being good stewards of your own org history and send things, even emails or social media, to the Archives. Contact
Ellen Holt-Werle if you have questions about what to donate, or check out our webpage
