As we've mentioned before, we listened through audio teaching lessons from Creation to Christ (about 65 listening hours total amongst the three groups). May God's Spirit even now use the truth of His Word to bring conviction of sin in their lives and clarity on how they too can have peace with God through Christ.

As we transition into this next portion of our update, we want to start by thanking you all for your prayers regarding team formation. It has been sweet to see God knit together our future church planting team. While being careful to still hold things somewhat loosely, we have all "slapped the table" and committed toward next steps together as a team. Without further ado, we are eager to introduce you to the Hernandez's and the Pav's.

Isaac and Claudia Hernandez are the first and only Mexican missionaries to PNG with New Tribes Mission (Ethnos360). They have two great kiddos: Jacob is 7, and Emma is 4. Check out their website below, and sharpen your Spanish skills! ;-)
To sign up for their updates, shoot Isaac a quick email at isaac_hernandez@ntmpng.org

We were classmates with Brody and Jen Pav at Bible School. After a difficult struggle with some health issues, they are expecting their first born baby boy in January! They are on track to arrive in PNG in July 2021. To sign up for their updates, shoot Brody a quick email at brody_pav@ntm.org.

It's a bit tricky getting a team picture while on different continents, but technology "kind of" still makes it possible.
We will not be considered an official team until Pav's arrive to PNG and complete the E2 program, but the plan is for the Ames and Hernandez families to continue pushing forward with surveys, regional choice, people group choice, and maybe even allocation, house building, and the beginnings of heart language culture/language acquisition. We are trusting God with this timeline. Of course, Pav's will be consistently (although remotely) included in every step of the process and decision-making.
Going forward, as you think of us, please pray for the Pav's and Hernandez's too. It takes a team!

Soon, Jonathan will be participating in a rapid assessment survey of the Aighon people group on the island of West New Britain. It will be broken into 2 week-long surveys, which consist of hiking and visiting most of the villages within the people group. We will ask a thorough set of questions that will help determine the potential for allocating a church-planting team amongst them.
|
|
Specific Prayer Points:
- Praise God for teammates!
- For our team to be able to settle on region (Western, Central, or Eastern)
- Upcoming surveys to Aighon people group in the Eastern region.
- For Devon as she finishes up Tok Pisin studies
- Marriage, parenting, and homeschooling
- Consistent time in prayer and in His Word.
Love you guys,
Jonathan & Devon, Isaac, Jackson, Leah, Carter, & Selah
