General News

Hello dear members,

What a busy few days we've had! Were you here? The Kids' Halloween party was all kinds of happy noisy excitement on Saturday afternoon, and then of course we had the horses yesterday and Monday! Any big winners around? I think my sweep horse came 4th, which doesn't really mean a lot does it! Must do better next year.

A very warm welcome to our new members - we've had a fair few people join in the last week or so, so if you're suddenly receiving this newsletter that's why - we send it out weekly on a Wednesday around lunchtime. If you have any questions about the Club please either drop us an email to our office address, or ask any of our friendly bar staff or members - we're happy to help.

Housekeeping

Just a little housekeeping note please about a couple of things that came to light on Saturday - we did have a number of guests to the Club then so it's fair enough that they don't know, but if you do bring guests please make sure you just run through a couple of things with them (after you've signed them in up at the bar).

1) Please make sure any children are supervised and not running round unattended - we had a few (just a few, not all)  on Saturday racing round outside in the carpark, and also down by the pool climbing fences. The carpark can be extremely busy and we have had a lot of campervans using it lately - I'm not even going to say what might happen other  that the carpark area is not for playing in. (We recognise that Saturday was unusual as we had about a million kids here due to our Halloween Party  but please always keep an eye on them - they're precious).

2) Please remind your guests that we ask you to return your empties (glasses and bottles etc) to the collection area to the left of the bar and not leave on the tables. Thanks!

3) Please make sure everyone's wearing shoes in the Club - the floor may look clean (and it mostly is!) but breakages and accidents happen and there could be wee pieces of glass floating around. Please be careful and keep your shoes on.

Happy birthday to our November-born members!
We've got a nice fresh list of names behind the bar so let the bar staff know when you're here during your birthday month and we'll shout you a drink!

We seem to be using a cat theme today....

Questions? Please email on office@ctclubrotorua.co.nz, attention Sarah.

Motorsports Car Sales Courtesy Van

Our van operates Thursday to Sunday from 3:00pm.
Just give us a call on 3478301 during opening hours, go through to the bar and book your pick up time.
To get home again, we make regular announcements throughout the night when the van is leaving shortly, so you just need to get yourself out into the foyer and hop on.

For new members who don't know about this - this is a free service but we would appreciate it if you could drop a donation in the box on the bar. Thank you!

CT Leisure Club

We had a great response to Christmas Market day on Saturday 12 December and registrations are now closed.  Final details of pick up etc will be advised closer to time.

Our next event will be at CT Club on Tuesday 24 November.  We will have lunch together and then a lesson on Petanque hosted by Valerie Price.  Cost is $13 per person and pay on the day. Please advise Win (details below) by 10:00am Monday 23rd November if you'd like to attend so we can organise catering for the yummy lunch.
Please email
winmacmillan@gmail.com with registrations for lunch or text 0274763010.

We are hoping to have our Book shelf and library set up in the Club by then so please bring along a couple of books if you're keen and you will be able to borrow whatever you fancy.

We're also planning another outing - see below. There will be a stop at a cafe at some stage so you can buy a cup of tea or coffee, but it's sure to be an exciting trip and drive around. Please contact Neil if you'd like to book for this or have any questions (don't ask him where though as he's not going to tell you!)

Note: the CT Leisure Club is a new Club designed to include daytime lunches, events and outings. All welcome - just come along to anything you see advertised if you're interested. You can contact Win if you have any questions or if you have any ideas for future events.

Pool News

What to say here other than we've got an awesome pool, it's now open for the season, weather's a bit rubbish but apparently kids don't feel the cold? That's according to the ones who've been splashing around recently despite the weather and rainy bits. The pool is heated to around 28 degrees, which is nice swimming pool temperature, nowhere near spa pool temperature, and significantly lower than the normal human body temperature so you WILL notice it when you jump in!

Dino looking thrilled to be back by our lovely pool.

I'm absolutely delighted to write this reminder as it means the season is changing, the weather will pick up shortly and if you need me I'll be lounging poolside with a cheeky cocktail.... all drinks consumed around the pool, must be purchased from the bar please - no BYO, including non-alcoholic drinks. And, please let the bar staff know (if it's not immediately obvious from your swimsuit and the smell of sunscreen wafting from you) that you're down at the pool, and they'll serve your drinks in plastic glasses - strictly no glassware down by the pool please. If we we were to have any glass breakages down there we'd need to drain the whole pool for health and safety reasons to ensure no glass in it. And that takes ages, and costs a lot.

We've had more pool keys cut, so if you'd like one please pick up an application form at the bar, I'll process it, we'll take $25 from you and issue your key within 2-3 working days.

Questions? Email office@ctclubrotorua.co.nz attention Sarah.
