Highways.Today Newsletter

5 November 2020

Welcome to another Highways.Today newsletter.

A spin-out from Liverpool University is developing an autonomous robot to patrol our roads in search of potholes to mend. The Robotiz3d robot will autonomously identify potholes and automatically deposit sealing materials, as well as fixing any smaller cracks it finds.

The concept is actually quite exciting. I can easily imagine an army of robots travelling around our streets finding and classifying any distresses, while repairing the minor issues before they develop into larger problems.

The company has just received private investment and they are confident their innovation will very soon revolutionise road maintenance.

The future is getting closer all the time!

Thanks again and stay safe.
