2. OCTOBER GRANT AWARDS

This weekend we will begin the process of setting up our first apartment. This is part of our pilot program of providing shelter to families utilizing an apartment until we can return to congregations. Thank you to Denise O’Halloran, Gail Frangiamore and their crew for furnishing and preparing the apartment.  We are also excited to work with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, who are providing a bunk bed for the apartment.

In addition we are grateful to these foundations for helping to fund the Apartment Shelter Program:

  • Green Bay Packers

  • Forest County Potawatomi

  • Greater Milwaukee Foundation

  • Oconomowoc Area Foundation

3. PREVENTION PROGRAM

The Family Homelessness Prevention Program has served 22 families. All of these families remain in their home! Here is a snapshot of who those families are:

We also have received a grant from Help Us Move In (HUMI), an organization whose focus is to end homelessness for children. This grant challenges Family Promise to match the $10,000 award in (2021) and then match that $20,000 in 2022. These funds will be used for rent relief. Look for a special appeal to match this grant on Giving Tuesday (December 1) and as a part of the Home-Giving Project. More details to follow.
