From the Fleet Captain

It's been an interesting couple of weeks: two great nor'easters for the Club Championship races and then thunderstorms which caused the abandonment of last Saturday’s Mini Regatta. What a shame, it looked to be a fantastic fleet. Thanks to Kylie Wilson for the dramatic photos.

With the prospect of State borders re-opening, I am very excited to advise that the NOR for the Nationals will be issued in the next few days. The dates are as previously advised: 9-14 January. We are looking at a slightly revised program to the traditional one, with 11 races scheduled to ensure we can maximise the amount of sailing.

Development Program update and call for support

Our three Development teams lead by Matt Stenta, Jed Cruikshank and Nick Howe are now well into their first Etchells season and have already shown how enthusiastic and committed they are.

We are looking to commission a fourth boat and crew, and to that end are seeking donations to support this additional boat and thus build on our momentum.

We need every Fleet member to support this initiative. We have all had a lot of fun and enjoyed great camaraderie over many years. The Sydney Fleet is the strongest Etchells fleet in the world and we need your help to keep it that way.

All contributions are tax deductible. We hope every member of the fleet will contribute something. Please don't just leave it to your mates to carry the can on this program.

Membership

Now is the time to renew your 2020/21 membership, particularly for owners / skippers, with IGC voting to open next week.

You can renew your membership at the Members Only area of the Association website at www.etchells.org.au

Spring Twilight Series

RSYS is hosting a One Design Twilight 'Sprints' series over four consecutive Thursday nights commenting 12 November with a 1730 Warning Signal.
