#CDFIFridays
2020 NYS CDFI Conference Series

Instead of rescheduling our 11th annual CDFI Conference that we postponed in March, we're hosting a series of webinars and panel discussions called #CDFIFridays - and there's one this week!

If you've already purchased a ticket for the conference - please be sure to follow the link we emailed you to register for the Zoom event next Friday at noon!

Don't have a ticket? Don't worry - you can sign up for events one at a time (scroll down and select "A LA CARTE" on the ticket options list), or subscribe to the entire #CDFIFriday conference series.

Save the dates for these upcoming events.

In Case You Missed It ...

The CDFI Friday panel on October 30 explored "Legacy Business to Worker Cooperative." Watch the video of the panel to find out:

  • How worker co-ops can foster community investment and close the wealth gap;
  • What technical and financial assistance is available; and
  • How businesses can prepare for a transition to worker ownership.
The talk was tailored to members and supporters of the Coalition, a nonprofit association that provides advocacy and resources for New York’s community development financial institutions.

You can watch the video with the link above, and be sure to sign up for our next webinar to be a part of the conversation!

Comment Period Closes Thu. 11/5 on Proposed Changes to CDFI Certification and Reporting

Our colleagues at Inclusiv recently shared this, and we're passing it along:

Earlier this year, the Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) Fund proposed changes to CDFI certification and reporting requirements and requested comments on these proposals from current and prospective CDFIs. The changes that the Fund has proposed would affect requirements in four key areas: Recertification and Reporting, the Target Market Test, the Accountability Test and the Primary Mission Test for current and prospective CDFIs.

Given the significance of these proposed changes, Inclusiv and its partners successfully lobbied the Fund for additional time to prepare comments. Written comments on proposed changes for both certification and reporting requirements must now be received by the CDFI Fund via email on or before November 5th, 2020.

Please submit your comment letters to the CDFI Fund separately via email for the proposed changes to certification, to Tanya McInnis, and annual reporting, to Greg Bischak, by November 5th, 2020. Contact information for each intended recipient is included in the templated letters we are sharing here.
