Hello School Board Members and Superintendents,
The next CCCSBA meeting is on Thursday, November 12, 2020, 5:30 to 7:00 pm on Zoom.
Our program topic is:
An Introduction to the Science of Reading and It's Implications on Closing the Literacy Gap
Our guest presenter is Dr. Maria Murray, Founder and CEO/President of The Reading League, which is a a national not-for-profit organization based in Syracuse, New York whose mission is to advance the awareness, understanding and use of evidence-based reading instruction. The Reading League's founders have spent decades on the frontlines of reading instruction and witnessed the vast amount of time, money, and energy that are spent on programs and procedures that fail to produce strong readers. But we know that when educators and parents are empowered with the knowledge, preparation, and support they need — young people have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
The meeting will be held on Zoom. Register in advance. Immediately after registering, you'll be emailed a unique-to-you URL to join the Zoom meeting, from cccsba.info@gmail.com. We recommend that you add that link to your calendar to allow you to easily join the meeting.
Prior to the program, the CCCSBA Board of Representatives (comprised of one representative from each of the member school boards) will have a very brief business meeting. The agenda with links to the minutes and financial report will be emailed separately to the representatives by Wednesday evening.
