Grand Champion
Greentree Olympic Charm
NTD
Absolutely a standout in his litter, Bode went to co-breeder, owner Beverly McDonald of Greentree Wheatens. His beautiful sister Dyna remained with breeder/co-owner Jill Miller (Charm Wheatens).
As this was the first litter sired by Blaine (Am GCHS/Can. GCH Keepsake’s Raise Your Glass) we at Keepsake were excited to watch the career of his offspring.
Bode’s beautiful Dam; Charm (GCHB Greentree Nuggets Charm) - Handled by Royal Miller
Bev showed Bode to a US best Baby puppy in show when he was just 4 months old.
Seeing his early promise, the decision to send him to Sydney Robinson at Keepsake was an easy one.
After a month in Canada Bode and his team headed to the Orlando National and pre shows in December 2019. He turned 6 months of age on Monday, shows started Tuesday Bode won WD. Thursday he was BW for his first 5 pt major.
He won Group 2 at the National Puppy Stakes under Mr. Clay Coady with over 120 terriers entered, 20 breeds represented in the group ranging in age from 6-18 months. Bode was one of the youngest to represent his breed!
He finished the weekend with a second 5 pt BW under Mr. Clay Coady at the AKC National championship show. His litter sister Dyna (Am Ch. Greentree Charm Dynagriffe) also took a 5 pt WB.
Bode returned to Canada to grow up and complete his Canadian Championship.
His first show was Wildwood in February 2020. He won Best of Breed over specials, multiple adult group placements, and multiple best puppy in group wins to complete his Canadian championship undefeated that first weekend.
Bode has consistently been competitive in very strong Terrier groups at the shows in 2020 which has him ranked #1 SCWT and currently #6 Terrier.
We are all looking forward to the bright future of this beautiful youngster!

CFIA Statement on Import Restrictions for Commercial Dogs Imported From Ukraine
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) takes its mandate for protecting animal welfare very seriously.
Following the CFIA's investigation into a large shipment of puppies from Ukraine, the CFIA has decided to cancel import permits for all commercial puppies under 8 months of age from Ukraine.
Effective July 6, 2020, the CFIA will no longer issue new permits for the importation of commercial dogs under 8 months of age from Ukraine.
The CFIA's decision is based on investigation findings of possible failures to comply with import requirements, including animal welfare concerns. These actions will remain in effect until the CFIA is satisfied that import conditions and international transport standards are in place and that animals will travel safely in the future.

Behind the Scenes with...
Name Todd Foley
Nova Scotia, Canada
Breed: Shetland Sheepdog, Beagle, Pug
1) Describe your favorite dog show memory?
WOW, having gone to dog shows for my whole life, that’s a tough question. There are so very many special memories. My three favorites are: 1. Winning the 31st Best in Show on Adam the Pug, becoming the most winning Best in Show Pug in Canadian history. 2. Winning the 41st Best in Show on Olivia my Sheltie, at Trillium, setting the record for Sheltie Best in Shows in Canada. 3. Standing in the center of the Best In Show ring at Crufts (Birmingham, England) in 2014 with Ricky the Standard Poodle and Jason Lynn after winning Best In Show. We were then invited to the after-show celebration at ‘The Kennel Club’, a memory I will never ever forget.
2) Who has been your biggest influence in purebred dogs?
That’s easy. My Mom, Eleanor Foley
3) Do you believe the bred by exhibitor class holds as much importance at all-breed shows, as it does at the specialty shows?
I would have to say that it does not. At All-breed shows in Canada, it just seems like another class. When at Specialties, it feels like the most important class. Specialties are indeed “SPECIAL” shows showcasing the breeder of that particular breed. Most breeders tend to enter the Bred-by class at Specialties
4) Pair two judges you would like to see on Dancing with the Stars?
Jim Reynolds & Betty Leininger
5) Name a dog show you have never attended that is on your bucket list?
Split Show in Croatia, Santa Barbara Show in California and any show in Australia & New Zealand
6) If you could have sat ringside and discussed dogs with someone no longer with us, who would it be and why?
My mom (Eleanor Foley), Dr. Richard Meen and Bill Taylor. Now that I am starting my judging, I think all three could give me the best advice and guidance. All three were incredibly knowledgeable dog people and would give me their honest opinions.
7) Are the clubs putting enough emphasis on hiring breed or group specialist judges on their panels?
Clubs do not have the funds available to bring in just anybody they want. It seems they are concentrating on keeping the costs down and going with the all-breed judge. Obviously, there are Breed and Group specialists that are all-breed judges but are not specialists for all breeds.
8) If you could give all clubs one piece of advice from an exhibitor or judges point of view, what would it be?
Please give permit judges assignments. Seek them out. Permit judges cannot solicit clubs for assignments. I realize it makes it harder for show scheduling and one more judge to pick up and drop off at the airport but these judges need assignments to continue on.
9) Do you think there are too many dog shows?
No, not in Atlantic Canada.
10) Which word or phrase do you most overuse?
I say no worries, or all will be ok, a lot!
