37 UCLA scientists among world’s most influential researchers

 
Clarivate ResearcherClarivate released its annual list of the most highly cited researchers, which includes dozens of UCLA scientists across various disciplines.

The list is compiled by the Institute for Scientific Information at Clarivate using data based on scholarly publication counts and citation indexes. The selected researchers wrote publications that ranked in the top 1% by citations in their field for that year.



Matteo Pellegrini, IDRE Board member, and Marc Suchard, IDRE Board member, are both among this year's list of most influential researcher. 
 

Early Career Research project site launch
 

ECR site screenshotIDRE Early Career Researchers (ECR) Group launched a new space  to highlight their diverse projects in information science, digital scholarship, data science, and computational science. 

The Early Career Research Project page provides a place for scholars to showcase the early phase of their careers in developing and using digitally enabled innovative research. 

 

Any early career research faculty, postdoctoral researcher, or graduate student affiliated with UCLA can submit their project here

Art exhibit created using artificial intelligence

Reas Exhibit Deep Meditations
Casey Reas, IDRE HASIS committee member and professor of design media arts in the UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture, is exhibiting work their in the Honor Fraser gallery.

The exhibit,  “Thin as Thorns, In These Thoughts in Us”, centers around themes of creative artificial intelligence and generative art and will run through Feb. 20, 2021

Paid Virtual Focus Group Opportunity:
COVID-19 Vaccine Survey


Project Goal: Discuss Potential reasons LA residents may or may not be willing to become vaccinated for COVID-19. 

Who: We are looking for community members who may have disproportionate rates or risk of COVID -19: 
  • Black, Latinx, Native American, Pacific Islander/Native Hawaiian, Filipino, Korea, and Vietnamese populations
  • Essential Workers
  • Any one over 50 years of age

What: Participants will fill out survey and participate in a 2 hour focus group. All Participants will $100 Amazon Gift card upon study competition.
