Connecting Communities consultation
Glasgow City Council has launched a consultation about ambitious plans for a new:
- Transport strategy for the city
- City centre transport plan
- Liveable neighbourhoods plan
These strategies aim to:
- reduce dependency on the private car
- make walking and cycling the first choice for many people for many journeys
Currently
- over 50% of journeys in the city are less than 3 kilometres (under 2 miles)
- over 50% of Glaswegians do not own a car
Many thanks to everyone that was able to attend and contribute to one of our discussion sessions over the past week. There are a few days left to respond to the consultation.
You don’t need to answer all of the questions – the important thing is to use the open questions near the end of the survey to tell the Council in your own words what you want to see for transport in the city.
The deadline for responding to the consultation is Friday 30 October.
