Huge demand for winter energy advice due to Coronavirus
Its only the end of October but we have already seen a tremendous demand for our services from local residents unable to afford their gas and electric bills. This month alone BHESCo have made emergency fuel voucher referrals worth £4,270 to Citizens Advice for people who have prepay meters. Unfortunately, this fund has now ended, and we are encouraging people to donate to the Wenceslas campaign run by Brighton Lions Club to help those most in need.
PROJECT: NetWerks, Lewes
Following our successful share offer BHESCo will be commencing work on a brand new community energy project in Lewes. The Werks Group are converting a disused building on Fisher Street into a dynamic new co-working space.
BHESCo have designed and will soon install a new rooftop solar power system for the building, in addition to a variety of energy efficiency upgrades including LED lighting and secondary glazing throughout.
UPDATE: Firle Village heat network
We are nearing the end of our stage 2 development project for Firle village with a view to greenlighting the project as soon as we have the relevant planning permissons.
The delivery of this heat network will be an unprecedented venture, being the first decarbonisation project in the UK to be undertaken in a rural village through community ownership using pricing models that are agreed with local residents. Read more>>

Investment in BHESCo on temporary pause
Following our most recent share offer we have succesfully raised the upfront finance for  projects in Framfield and Lewes, and therefore are not accepting any additional investment at this time. We are currently in the design and development stage for several new community energy projects in Sussex, and will be seeking to raise the capital finance for these projects in early 2021, when we will be offering investors a target interest rate of 3%.
