Congratulations to DKH Winners in Norwich Bulletin's Best of Eastern CT Awards!

Several DKH medical staff members, locations, and practices, including DKH associates* were nominated by the public for the Norwich Bulletin's 2020 "Best of Eastern Conn," the official community choice awards. Nominees were narrowed to the top three in each category, and more than 86,000 votes were cast to decide the winners, who were revealed Thursday, October 29 in an exclusive On-Demand Oscar-style ceremony.

Annual Hospice Celebration of Life Ceremony
This special virtual ecumenical candlelight service remembers and honors loved ones lost this year. Watch along as a candle is lit in remembrance of those who've passed away.

DKH Scarecrow Fun in the Quiet Corner

It's getting SPOOKY in NECT! Check out this thrilling sight at the entrance of Day Kimball Hospital, created by the Stroke Care and Facilities teams, as part of Discover Putnam's Scarecrow Contest and in honor of stroke awareness! 

And, throughout the region are hidden DKH scarecrows as part of the Killingly Parks & Recreation Department's Great Scarecrow Scavenger Hunt, a self-guided, socially distanced scavenger hunt for local families from October 26-31! Stay tuned to DKH's Facebook page for a special revealing of the top secret locations on Monday, November 2.

 

Virtual Tree of Life Ceremony to Benefit Hospice & Palliative Care of NECT

For 30 years, friends and families have gathered together on village greens across the region, singing Christmas carols, sharing words of comfort, and uniting in one magical moment lighting the “Hospice Tree of Life." 

On December 13 at 6:30 p.m., you and your loved ones will have an opportunity to participate in the ceremony from the comfort of home. Given the extraordinary circumstances this year, watch a video of a Tree of Life ceremony hosted by our hospice team. Our celebration will include a simultaneous tree-lighting experience representative of the many towns we serve and honoring the many lives that have been touched. Learn more >

DKH Employee's Birthday Wish Supports Rose Bove LaRose Cancer Center 

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, one DKH employee and breast cancer survivor is on a mission to give back after her own battle. Now marking 6 years cancer-free, Debbie Dugas set out to celebrate her 58th birthday this year by raising funds to help patients undergoing breast cancer treatment at DKH’s Rose Bove LaRose Cancer Center. “I know what they’ve been through,” said Debbie. “I’ve been in their shoes, and I want them to stay positive and have hope that one day they’ll be in mine.” Keep reading >
