PS After 42 years working for the Archdiocese of Brisbane I have decided to step down from my position, and, next Friday will be my last day.
I am deeply grateful to the Archdiocese for such a long career throughout which I have worked with people of deep faith, commitment and passion for God's mission in the world. From when I began working with Peter Gagen in 1978 it was clear to me that our primary purpose was to serve parish communities. In that work of service I am thankful for the many priests, pastoral ministers, deanery and parish council members and parishioners that I have had the privilege and honour to work with in adult faith formation.
I want to thank the many individuals (too numerous to mention) who gave generously of their time, expertise and energy in the production of Lenten programs since 2000: writers, proof readers, musicians, liturgists and artists. I want to thank particularly the 'story-tellers'. Every year six individuals would agree to do something quite extraordinary; to share their personal story of pain, joy, grief, grace and redemption. All these people have touched the lives of the 250,000+ participants in these programs over 22 years.
Lastly I want to thank Donna Longland. Donna was far, far more than an 'Administration Support Officer'. She was my Production Assistant from proof reading the initial drafts, to checking designs, researching photographs, autocue operator, checking video and audio files and on and on. Gracias Donna!
