EFFECTIVE FRIDAY, OCT 30: Covid-19 rollbacks for Chicago businesses

While Chicago recently changed its rules on October 23rd, effective this Friday, October 30th, the State of Illinois has placed new restrictions on Chicago-based businesses and gatherings. These rules begin starting at 12:01am on 10/30.
**These do not apply to schools or polling places.

Bars
• No indoor service
• All outside bar service closes at 11:00 p.m.
• All bar patrons should be seated at tables outside
• No ordering, seating, or congregating at bar (bar stools should be removed)
• Tables should be 6 feet apart
• No standing or congregating indoors or outdoors while waiting for a table or exiting
• No dancing or standing indoors
• Reservations required for each party
• No seating of multiple parties at one table
Restaurants
• No indoor dining or bar service
• All outdoor dining closes at 11:00 p.m.
• Outside dining tables should be 6 feet apart
• No standing or congregating indoors or outdoors while waiting for a table or exiting
• Reservations required for each party
• No seating of multiple parties at one table
Meetings, Social Events, Gatherings
• Limit to lesser of 25 guests or 25 percent of overall room capacity
• No party buses
• Gaming and Casinos close at 11:00 p.m., are limited to 25 percent capacity, and follow mitigations for bars and restaurants, if applicable

Chicago's Performing Arts Venue Relief Fund - This program will provide $10,000 grants to approximately 120 for-profit and nonprofit performing arts venues to cover lost revenue due to COVID-19. This includes venues that primarily produce or present performances in theatre, dance, comedy, performance art and/or music, including live mixing by DJs. To be eligible, applicants must be located in Chicago and have a Public Place of Amusement (PPA) or Music & Dance License from BACP. Apply by tomorrow, October 23rd at 5pm central.

Restaurants - apply for a $5,000 DoorDash business grant by November 6th. There are only 100 opportunities for Chicago-based restaurants.
