As you know, we very rarely bother you beyond our monthly “Fishotopian” newsletter, because we reckon you probably find unsolicited emails just as annoying as we do. However, we have two bits of extremely exciting news that simply can’t wait until our next newsletter on 3 November, so we hope you don’t mind us reaching out to you now!

  1

Firstly, we’re launching a brand new Inner Circle membership drive leading up to Christmas. (By the way, if you’re still not exactly sure what the Inner Circle is, or what it offers, click here now to watch a short video that clearly explains all the benefits of belonging to this exclusive club.)
For a very limited time, we’re offering new* annual sign-ups to the Inner Circle a fantastic bonus pack. This give-away consists of a hand-made RTBroughton timber lure valued at $27, PLUS a signed copy of Starlo’s out-of-print and highly-collectible “Blokes & Tackle” book, worth $25… In other words, we’re giving you $52 worth of product for your $55 joining fee (which includes GST)!

Ray Broughton’s immaculate hand-crafted timber lures are legendary, and the 80mm Shimmeys we’re giving away as part of this one-time offer are an incredibly versatile floating/diving minnow that’s ideally suited to targeting flathead, mangrove jacks, trevally, jewfish, barra, bass, cod, yellowbelly, redfin, big trout and a host of other species in both the salt and fresh. No matter where you live, there’s sure to be a bunch of fish lurking nearby eager to smack this deadly lure.

Written in 1999, Starlo’s 162-page “Blokes & Tackle” profiles more than 30 gun Aussie anglers — from big names like Rex Hunt, Kaj ‘Bushy’ Busch and Andrew ‘ET’ Ettingshausen to lesser-known local heroes and life-long specialists. It offers a fascinating insight into what makes all these blokes tick, and why they’re such successful fishermen, including lots of their priceless tips. To cap it off, Steve will individually sign every copy, making this a very collectible piece of memorabilia.

You can purchase this yearly membership and gift pack for yourself* or buy it for someone else as a Christmas or birthday treat… the choice is yours. But be aware that there are only 50 of these gift packs up for grabs. Once they’re gone… they’re gone!

The other piece of exciting news that couldn’t wait until the next newsletter involves an amazing on-line barramundi fishing course now being offered by one of our Inner Circle members and highly successful Top End fishing guide, Glenn ‘Watty’ Watt.

Watty is not only a barra fishing innovator and guru, he’s also a genuine Aussie character. His unique take on life has made him a social media phenomenon, and his loyal band of followers grows by the day. Now they — and everyone else — have a unique opportunity to tap directly into this bloke’s vast store of knowledge and experience.

“Top End Barra Secrets” is a month-long, deeply-immersive course consisting of eight to 10 live Zoom meetings (each running for at least an hour and a half, and all recorded so participants can refer back to them) as well as a virtual motherlode of down-loadable PDFs, course notes, slide shows and videos.

By the end of this in-depth course, participants will know more about finding and catching barra than they ever dreamed possible. Don’t be confused by the course’s title, either. While it’s based solidly on Watty’s vast Top End learnings, it’s extremely applicable to all barra waters: from WA to Queensland.

Whether you live deep in barra country, visit it regularly, or are still a day-dreaming, star-struck barra virgin from the deep south who’s saving your cents for the trip of a lifetime, this course is your ticket to silver-scaled success. As Watty himself says: “This is the course I wish I’d had available to me when I rocked up to Darwin for the first time in 1997!”

If you sign on, Watty will be your personalised coach and instructor throughout the entire course, which starts with a detailed look at the biology and habits of these iconic sportfish before progressing through every nuance of tackle and techniques and then on to finding, catching and handling barra. It dives deeply into the dynamic world of tides, currents, pressure points, colour changes and a thousand and one other variables that can spell the difference between a donut and a red-letter day on these challenging, rewarding fish.

We personally endorse and wholeheartedly support Watty’s “Top End Barra Secrets” course, and we strongly encourage YOU to check it out in more detail by clicking THIS link now!
