Content for the SDN Community!

As technology continues to intersperse itself into all facets of our lives, it is glaringly apparent the inherent biases built into its framework. Developed by people, technology is reflective of lived experiences and perspectives that, when not done right, can have negative consequences on its ultimate application. In this article from author Felix Chang, he taps the experts within the design and tech space to understand what actions can be employed to ensure products and services are designed for equity.

Inclusive design was a trending theme throughout last week’s Virtual SDGC20. Let’s keep the conversation and actions going!

Case Study: Kukunori is a Finnish think tank and civil/human rights NGO. Their mission is to apply a creative and experimental approach in the development of solutions within the mental health sector. The organization called upon SDN Accredited Master Trainer, Milla Mäkinen (Founder, Changeagenta) to support the application of a Design Sprint (developed by Google) as a participative strategy-building tool. The outcome led to a prototype of a strategy that now guides the work of the whole organization.
