NEW! Audio-visual suppliers are now available

We are happy to announce that audio-visual and public address equipment suppliers are now available on the Parish Buying website.

With many church buildings reopening it is important to serve both online and in-person congregations, to reach new worshippers and serve congregation members who continue to shield at home or be unable to attend in person.
As a result, we have selected Audio Visual and Public Address suppliers that can provide churches with solutions needed to engage with a remote congregations.

Whether you choose to stream or record services on Facebook, YouTube or Zoom, our suppliers will be able to offer guidance on which equipment would work best in your church building and make a proposal to suit your requirements for equipment, installation, training and ongoing maintenance.
For installations as part of your response to Covid-19 there is guidance on seeking ‘temporary permissions’. This will enable you to get started quickly.

Suppliers offer all the necessary equipment for sound and video, at the budget level required, as well as streaming services and equipment casing.

Get ready for Christmas with online giving

With regions of the UK going into further lockdowns, many congregation members are unable to or are nervous about attending church buildings. This has taken a huge toll on traditional methods of giving and as Christmas approaches, we at Parish Buying understand that finding alternative ways to give is a priority for churches. So now is a good time to remind you that we offer a service which allows congregation members, friends and visitors a wat to give online, including Gift Aid.

Click here to watch a step by step video on how to set up your online giving account and campaigns. Once you are all set up, you can share your online giving page on your church's website, a Facebook page, on WhatsApp group or during an online service, making giving accessible to everyone that engages with your church's online presence.

Hosting services online? You'll need reliable internet

As the UK has been under lockdown for a large part of this year, churches have found it important to make services and resources available to congregation members online.

To do this a strong internet connection is needed and various wireless internet and broadband/phoneline bundles are available on Parish Buying. Click here for further guidance.

Find out how to access the internet without a postcode

Some churches do not have a postcode and experience difficulties getting broadband installed as a result. Following conversations with DCMS, the government department responsible for telecoms, BT and Openreach we have a solution.

Churches can now provide their Unique Property Reference Number (UPRN) to suppliers instead of a postcode, to be recognised as a property. Click here for further guidance.

UK churches provide £12.4 billion worth of social and economic support to local communities

In a new report from the National Churches Trust, UK church buildings were referred to as a ‘National Help Service’ after it was revealed that they provided £12.4 billion worth of essential social and economic support to local communities during the 12 months up until May 2020.

For the first time, a detailed economic study of the UK's 40,300 church buildings converted the invaluable impact of mainly-volunteer led services including food banks, mental health counselling and youth groups based in churches, chapels and meeting houses and converted it into a monetary value.

“During the COVID-19 pandemic, church buildings were...forced to lockdown. But for the most vulnerable in our society, the support church buildings offer is not a recreational choice – it’s an essential need.

- Claire Walker, Chief Executive of the National Churches Trust

No need to overspend on insurance, check out our suppliers

Insurance is one of the biggest costs for parishes so it is essential to purchase a specialist church policy to ensure an adequate range of cover and to be appropriately insured, to cover threats to property and liability.

On Parish Buying we currently have two companies that have developed policies specifically designed for Church of England parishes. We strongly suggest for parishes to discuss their requirements directly with potential providers.
