Welcome to Day FIVE of the Clarke Square Neighborhood Initiative Five Days of Fun and Feedback

It surely has been a challenge to feel like a connected Clarke Square during quarantine. Let’s plan on getting together soon in a Zoom community gathering.

For our last day of questions, let us know what you would like to talk about when we get together – and when you’d be available:

Fun Fact of the Day

Did you know that Clarke Square is named after the original purchasers of the land in the late 1800s?

We are proud to be one of Milwaukee’s most diverse neighborhoods. Read through the feature Milwaukee Magazine did on Clarke Square in 2017.

Ciclovia MKE

Clarke Square Neighborhood Initiative is a proud sponsor of the annual Ciclovia event, hosted in late summer (when we aren't dealing with COVID19).

The first Ciclovia was held in Bogota, Colombia in 1975 as a tool to try to balance class inequality and citizens fed up with the domination of the automobile, and to promote healthy living. The popular event has spread around the world, with some well-established events drawing up to 4 million attendees weekly.

Ciclovia MKE creates car-free spaces that bring diverse communities together to get MOVING! "Like" Ciclovia MKE on Facebook to stay connected.
