Welcome

"The second is this, you shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.." ~ Mark 12:31

"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." ~ John 15:13

Today I reflect and offer a prayer of thanks for all who served. I think about my uncle Denzil who served in WW2 and lost his life there. I never met him, but his memory is always with me. I have often thought of the joyful reunion he and my father had in Heaven when my father arrived. I think of my father-in-law who served in Vietnam. I think of the strength and resolve and love for our country these people had.

My prayer this morning is for all people who have served and are serving in our military for God's peace and comfort. We are grateful to you for you sacrifice and example. We carry you all in our hearts and pray for God's blessing on you today.

God called upon the American soldiers to show His love to those who needed it most, and they always heard that call.

May God bless our servicemen and women. Amen!

~ Pastor Denise

Our music program is led by our Minister of Music, Grayce Armstrong. During the pandemic, she has been collaborating remotely with several of our musicians and singers to provide music for our online worship. Their creativity has been inspiring and much appreciated. "Thank You" to all who have contributed their musical talents during this time.

Recordings may be submitted for inclusion in online worship. You may contact Grayce by email at music@debowsumc.org if you are interested in recording for virtual choir and band.  Music (including singing) will also be presented at the 10 AM Sunday morning indoor worship service.

2nd & 4th
Monday Each Month

The next Food Pantry distribution is
Monday, November 23
The DeBows Food Pantry is open on the 2nd & 4th Monday each month. DeBows is using an "Appointment Only" system to distribute the food. People can make an appointment by calling 848-373-8844.*

* Please note new phone number to call to make an appointment.

Please note: participants need to call the church by 5:00 PM on the Saturday prior to the scheduled food pantry day. This gives the Food Pantry volunteers time to prepare the food for distribution. "Thank You" for your cooperation.

There is now an opportunity to form two groups of volunteers; one to work in the morning when the food shipment comes in, and one in the evening when the people come to pick up the food. If you wish to be one of these volunteers, contact Deb Cregle and let her know if you would like to help in the AM or PM. Help is always welcomed.

Please contact Deb Cregle if you need further information.

DeBows in Mission

Thanks to everyone who has participated in this year's Operation Christmas Child outreach event.  Every "shoebox" is a way to provide God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. There is still time to contribute, but you need to do so quickly. The national collection week is November 16-23.

Gina Pezzino is the Project Leader for this mission activity. You may contact her with any questions at 480-313-1778 or at justgoats@gmail.com.
DeBows will once again participate in the annual Gift Drive for The Children's Home Society. Due to the pandemic, this year's Gift Drive will be conducted "virtually". Details for how this will be implemented will be made available within the next week and shared via a separate communications email. While this outreach event, and Advent & Christmas in general, will be observed a little different this year, we can still share God's love with these children.
