** SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING **

The Management Committee advises a Special General Meeting has been called for Monday 16 November at 7.45pm, online (see link below).

The committee proposes to remove the requirement to appoint an auditor, as required by our Rules.

Under the Charities Act 2005, under which we are governed, due to our size we are not required to be audited. As discussed at the AGM, Locke & Partners, our long-term auditors, no longer conduct an audit practice. They have performed this function for free for many years. The cost of getting a paid audit performed is substantial, and in our opinion isn’t necessary. We note our funders do not require audited accounts and have their own systems of check and balances.

Interact Festival online

This year will be the first time Interact have held an online festival! They aim to have everything up online 25-27 November (a 3-day festival as if it were a physical festival). The theme is 'Everything Through Kindness' with the aim of having everything that is posted receiving at least 100 likes and views. They are still currently looking and gathering content to post up. It can be anything! Messages saying hi, dances, skits, songs, juggling, mimes, art, sculptures, costume parades ...etc. Anything is welcome as it's a great opportunity to share and showcase people's abilities. For more information, please contact Interact via their Facebook Group.

Founded in 2011, the InterAct Festival offers an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of disabled people in the arts.
