Tourism New Zealand and the wider tourism industry continue to adapt to the challenges of COVID-19. The tourism advisory support service is still available free of charge and this service has now been extended to include a new phase of practical support designed to help you understand more about your digital ecosystem with the aim of lifting the level of digital capability for the tourism industry.

Some local initiatives and events are taking place this month that are perfect to help tourism operators and complementary related businesses:

  • WellingtonNZ is putting on a Tourism Operator Open Day at the Michael Fowler Centre on the 16th of November 2020 - Registration is essential and must be in by 8 November. 
  • Infomaps NZ Ltd, is currently working on the 2021 Kāpiti Visitor map and Street Guide. There are some spots left, so get in quick to get your business on the map!
  • Kāpiti Arts Trail: 7/8 and 14/15 November - In it's 20th year this annual event attracts thousands of attendees across two weekends. 
  • Kāpiti Food Fair 2020: 5 December - Annually this event attracts more than 20,000 attendees all celebrating local products and produce.

Tourism Operator Open Day

WellingtonNZ’s Tourism Trade Team is planning a Tourism Operator Open Day on Monday 16th November to allow our local tourism activity operators to showcase their products to local front-line tourism staff.

A range of hotel concierge staff, receptionists, B&B hosts, Wellington City Ambassadors and others are invited to come along to learn about all the amazing things that are available in the Wellington region for them to promote to the visitors they engage with.
